APICS (Atlantic Provinces Council on the Sciences) is a non-profit organization composed of universities, colleges, government labs and other institutions in Atlantic Canada. Its goal is the advancement of science and technology through education and public awareness and the promotion of scientific literacy, education and research throughout the region.

The Biology Committee is one of ten subcommittees dedicated to a specific field of study. Our main event is the annual APICS Undergraduate Biology Conference (AUBC), which give honours students a chance to present the results of research. The conference is held in conjunction with the Aquaculture Conference for graduate students.

Members of the Biology APICS committee meet twice per year - once in the fall (typically the first week of November) and again during the AUBC in the spring. These meetings provide committee members with the opportunity to discuss a variety of topics ranging from the organization of field courses to commonalities between institutions in the biology field. They are also used to plan upcoming conferences.
