APICS - NSERC Award
This award is for the best paper presented at the conference. It is judged primarily on the basis of the scientific quality and the relevance of the topic, the amount of original work done by the student, and his/her understanding of the subject. Secondary consideration is given to the organization and the presentation of the talk. The award consists of $500 to the presenter and a plaque, which resides at the winners university for one year. The award is usually presented by a representative of the APICS Earth Science Committee at the annual banquet of the AUGC.
The APICS Earth Science Committee will usually suggest an appropriate judge.
The award is part of the financial support given to the conference by APICS and NSERC. Application for support is made through the chairman of the APICS Earth Science Committee. For information see the Faculty member representing the host university on the APICS Geology Committee.
