Report to APICS Council, Fall 2009

Friday 5 March and Saturday 6 March 2010 are the firm dates for the next APICS Environment Conference to be held at Memorial University of Newfoundland in St. John's. These dates were chosen to dovetail with the Newfoundland Environmental Industries Association (NEIA) annual trade show. This meeting is being organized by Joe Wroblewski.

In other committee business, a fundraising effort is beginning to seek donations from Provincial Energy/Environments Departments and large corporate entities for student travel to St. John’s. Although the Environment Committee has funds held in trust that can be accessed to subsidize student travel costs, it seems prudent to raise additional funding to help buffer against unexpected Committee expenses. The fundraising effort is being led by the Committee Chair, with the help of an undergraduate student at StFX. This fund will be made available to all participating institutions, and a Committee discussion will decide on equitable distribution of disbursements to the institutions.

The committee composition is as follows:
o Acadia Nelson O’Driscoll
o ABU n/a
o CBU Bill Bailey o Dal Daniel Rainham
o MUN Joseph S Wroblewski (conf coord)
o Mt A Brad Walters
o MSVU n/a
