Welcome to the home page of the Environment Committee of the Atlantic Provinces Council on the Sciences.
We provide a forum for faculty and students working within the
transdisciplinary area of the environment to discuss common interests, to explore the
coordination of courses, curricula and field programs, to meet in conferences, and to engage in public education activities.
The Committee works to promote diverse approaches to environmental studies in public schools and universities. The major tool
which the Committee uses to achieve this end is through the APICS Environmental Studies Conference, open to all students
studying in the environmental sciences in Atlantic Canada.
If you are are student interested in the environmental sciences, and would like to learn more about the
field and where it could take you, I encourage
you to explore the 'Thinking Green' links on the left hand side of this page. Also, be sure to
visit APICS' Upcoming Events page for events and conferences which
may be of interest.
I welcome you to explore this website, and to check back for updates. Any comments or questions you might have would be appreciated!
Regards,
Van Lantz
Chair, Environment Committee
