NSERC Representatives' Undergraduate Student Award
Presented at the Annual APICS Student Conferences
Approved February 2004

The NSERC Representatives’ Undergraduate Student Award will be offered at each of the annual APICS-sponsored undergraduate student conferences. The $400 cash prize will be awarded to the student whose work and presentation (oral or poster) best encompass NSERC's mandate to invest in people, discovery and innovation for the benefit of all Canadians, and demonstrate the student’s potential for graduate studies and research.

The award may be split into multiple prizes of no less than $100 at the discretion of the judging committee. For example, the award maybe be split into two $200 prizes: one for best oral and one for best poster presentation.

Judging

Whenever possible, the local NSERC representative is encouraged to attend the presentations, participate in the judging, and award the prize.

The judging committee has the right to decide not to give an award in any competition. If there are fewer than three students eligible to compete for this award at any conference, the award may not be disbursed.

The decision of the judges is final.

The Award

The Award consists of a cash prize and a letter of commendation from the Atlantic NSERC Representatives. Cash prizes can be presented directly to the winners (using conference funds); APICS will reimburse the committee. If APICS is given sufficient advance notice (e.g. the two months advance notice required for a committee to access its conference budget from APICS), APICS can provide the amount in advance.
